DISCLAIMER: The photos below are not the finished projects completed by me. They are the inspiration behind my DIY projects. As I begin starting my DIY stuff, I will have a section with actual pictures of my DIY antics. :)

1 year anniversary wish box

Hershey Bar Favors

I want to create my own Hershey Bar labels using childhood pictures of me and Josh. I also want to add some sort of a small and cute tag, like a scalloped circle, with the wedding date and our names (or initials).

Monogram Cake Topper

Josh is not really a fan of traditional bride/groom cake toppers and, really, I'm not either. Some of them are cute but others are creepy or cheesy, in my opinion. Monogram cake toppers are adorable but many of them are quite expensive. I am thinking about doing my own cake topper. The one pictured to the left used a Cricut and ten or twenty sheets of cardstock and she mod podged the layers together to create thickness. I would probably do a more subtle font and/or color, but I love this concept.

Decorative Canvas Guest Sign-In

I love everything about this painted canvas. The way that it looks and the idea behind it. So cute! I may have to consider something like this for my guests to sign.

Wrapped Chocolate Chip Cookies

I make really good Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, so I was thinking of making them as favors instead of the Hershey Bar. I would wrap each one individually, like pictures, and instead of using a monogram, I would use a childhood picture of either me or Josh. I could also wrap it and put a cute tag or something instead.

Guestbook

If I decided to use this type of guestbook, I think this is a project I could do on my own. It is just a matter of selecting a book that would work with what my vision is. I could then either use bought envelopes or my mom and I can create envelopes using her nifty little Martha Stewart folder thing.

Generations of Love Photo Setup

I saw this idea from a member of The Knot and I absolutely loved it. Josh really liked it, too, so that's a good sign. I plan to get old and/or new pictures of each of our parents and our grandparents.

Photo Upload Cards

I want to make cards to put on tables to show guests where to go to upload pictures from the wedding.

Card Holder

Whether it be a box or a bucket, I don't know. But I do know that this is definitely a project that I would be capable of doing!

Cones to hold PomPoms/Petals

I want to make cute cones to hold the fuzzy pom poms or the rose petals for our announcement of husband and wife after the ceremony. I think this would be a great photo opportunity, too.

Flip Flops at Reception

I won't assume everyone will want to wear flip flops, but I was thinking of getting maybe ten pairs of flip flops and putting them in a cute basket or something by the dance floor. Cheap and thoughtful. :)

Wrapped or Painted Candleholders

I love the idea of taking plain (and cheap) candle holders and wrapping them in lace or vellum or some other type of paper. This could definitely be something I can experiment with for centerpiece decor. I would also like to look into painting plain glass votives.

Programs

I'm not sure exactly how I am going to make our programs, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to attempt it. I'm either going to design them and print them elsewhere, or have them printed at home.. I'm not sure of the details. I think a program will be useful for my guests to talk about the wedding party and other ceremony details.

Reception Sign(s)

This is definitely up my alley. I love how cute and whimsical signs like this are. My mom and I could DEFINITELY do this. I was thinking of making one for the cake table, possibly our sweetheart table (if that's what we have), the buffet, or even for the DIY photobooth.

I Do/We Do "cake letters"

Everyone else is doing it! Plus, I think they are pretty cute. I am thinking of doing smaller ones (maybe six inch letters) and putting them on the cake table. We shall see!

Wedding Shoes

I think this is a cute idea for wedding shoes.

Fun Tags (for various things)

I will need tags to label various things from the wedding, so I plan to make some cute and whimsical tags.

Reception Photo"booth"

If the venue of our choice has the space, we thought it would be fun to have a little photobooth area. Instead of creating an actual booth, we would just have a fun background off to the side at the reception. There would be a box or table with fun props, of course. I would just "hire" a friend of a friend to take pictures of the guests. This could be something cute to insert into Thank You cards.

Pom Pom Garland

I may attempt to make this, or something like this. I'm thinking it would look really cute as either a backdrop to the DIY photobooth, decor for buffet or cake table, hanging randomly on the wall, or even as getaway car decor like in the photo below.
