The Proposal

He asked me in front of my family and my friends.

The day finally came.. I was graduating college! Little did I know that walking across the stage would not be my only unforgettable moment of the day. After the graduation ceremony, we had planned a get together with our closest friends and family. We laughed, we ate, and I opened graduation gifts. Later in the day, Josh wanted to give a toast to the "graduation girl." As his toast started, I could sense his emotions getting the best of him. As the toast drew to a close, he was clearly struggling through his emotions as he was telling me and everyone there how passionate of a person I was and how wonderful of a teacher I will be. Then, he said, "One last thing..." On his knee he went. He told me I was his sunrise and his sunset. He said, "I am not a wealthy man, but you make my life rich. Amber, will you be my wife?" My response? Nervous and giddy laughter followed by an "Of course!" I leaned over and gave him a big hug and a big kiss and my dad calls out, "Here, here!" and everyone was cheering. He put the ring on my finger and I gave him more hugs. He had a secret dinner with my parents a couple of weeks before to ask for my hand in marriage. My mom even caught the whole thing on camera, and I will treasure that forever.
